A biker is riding by the zoo,

Now this is funny

A biker is riding by the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s
cage. Suddenly, the lion  grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull
her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the
nose with a powerful punch.Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting
go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him

A reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the biker says,
‘Sir, this was the   most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole
life.’The biker replies, ‘Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars.
I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.’

The reporter says, ‘Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a
journalist, you know, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front
page… So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you

The biker replies, ‘I’m a U.S. Marine and a Republican.’ The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news
of his actions, and   reads, on the front page:

For all those that doubt there are so many wonderful signs, I thought you would like this Loretta.

For those with logical/scientific minds

Thought this was pretty amazing and interesting!
For all the scientists out there, and for all the students who have a hard time convincing these people regarding the truth of the Bible, here’s something that shows God’s awesome creation, and that He is still in control.

Did you know that the space program is busy proving that what has been called ‘myth’ in the Bible is true?

Harold Hill, President of the Curtis Engine Co. in Baltimore, Md, and a consultant in the space program, relates the following development.
‘I think one of the most amazing things that God has done for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, Md.
They were checking out where the positions of the sun, moon, and planets would be 100 years and 1,000 years from now. We have to know this so we won’t send up a satellite and have it bump into something later on in its orbits.
We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be so the whole thing will not bog down.
They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries, and it came to a halt. The computer stopped and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong with either the information fed into it or with the results as compared to the standards.
They called in the service department to check it out, and they said, ‘What’s wrong?’ Well, they found there is a day missing in space in elapsed time.
They scratched their heads and tore their hair out.               There was no answer.

Finally a Christian man on the team said, ‘You know, one time I was in Sunday School, and they talked about the sun standing still.’ While they didn’t believe him, they didn’t have an answer either, so they said, ‘Show us.’
He got a Bible and went to the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for anyone with ‘common sense.’
There they found the Lord saying to Joshua, ‘Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand before Thee.’
Joshua was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy! And if darkness fell, they would overpower them. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! That’s right… ‘The sun stood still and the moon stayed and lasted not to go down about a whole day!’
(Joshua 10:12-13)

The astronauts and scientists said, ‘There is the missing day!’ They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it was close but not close enough The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua’s day was 23 hours and 20 minutes, not a whole day.
They read the Bible, and there it was approximately a day. These little words in the Bible are important, but they were still in trouble because if you cannot account for 40 minutes, you’ll still be in trouble 1000 years from now.
Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits. As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible where it said the sun went BACKWARDS.
The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but they got out the Book and read these words in 2 Kings that told of the following story: Hezekiah, on his death bed, was visited by the prophet Isaiah who told him that he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for a sign as proof. Isaiah said ‘Do you want the sun to go ahead 10 degrees?’
Hezekiah said, ‘It is nothing for the sun to go ahead 10 degrees, but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees.’ Isaiah spoke to the Lord, and the Lord brought the shadow ten degrees BACKWARD! Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes!’

Twenty-three hours and 20 minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in Second Kings make the missing day in the universe! Isn’t it amazing?

References: Joshua 10:8 and 12,13 and 2 Kings 20:9-11 .

Forward this to as many people who you believe would believe.
If God could do this then; how much more can He do for us today. If we only believe in His word.
Never be afraid to try something new.

All I have and all that I am is by the Grace of God!

Stop and Smell the Roses

Musician playing violin in a Washington DC
Metro Station on a cold January morning
in 2007.
He played six Bach pieces for about 60 minutes. During that time approximately 2,000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After:
3 minutes
A middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.
4 minutes
The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping, continued to walk.
6 minutes
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.
10 minutes
A three year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly, as the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced them to move on.
45 minutes
The musician played. Only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32.
1 hour:
He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.
This is a real story. The Washington Post, as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people’s priorities, arranged the entire scenario. Playing incognito, no one knew the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days prior to this, Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the tickets averaged $100 per seat.
The questions raised:
In a common place environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty; do we stop to appreciate it;
do we recognize talent in such an unexpected context?
One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be:
If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ……. How many other things are we missing?

A Hug Certificate for You!

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
And share with you its beauty
On the days you’re feeling blue.

If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own;
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things I’m finding
Are impossible for me.

I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best,
A friend who’s always there.

This  is a Hug Certificate!!

discovery since antibiotics!" – Harvard Study

The Things we Hear

While I sat in the reception area of my doctor’s office, a woman rolled an elderly man in a wheelchair into the room.  As she went to the receptionist’s desk, the man sat there, alone and silent.  Just as I was thinking I should make small talk with him, a little boy slipped off his mother’s lap and walked over to the wheelchair.  Placing his hand on the man’s, he said, ‘I know how you feel.  My mom makes me ride in the stroller too.’.

As I was nursing my baby, my cousin’s six-year-old daughter, Krissy, came into the room.  Never having seen anyone breast feed before, she was intrigued and full of all kinds of questions about what I was doing. After mulling over my answers, she remarked, ‘My mom has some of those, but I don’t think she knows how to use them.’

Out bicycling one day with my eight-year-old granddaughter, Carolyn, I got a little wistful.  ‘In ten years,’ I said, ‘you’ll want to be with your friends and you won’t go walking, biking, and swimming with me like you do now. Carolyn shrugged. ‘In ten years you’ll be too old to do all those things anyway.’

Working as a pediatric nurse, I had the difficult assignment of giving immunization shots to children.  One day I entered the examining room to give four-year-old Lizzie her needle. ‘No, no, no!’ she screamed. ‘Lizzie,’ scolded her mother, ‘that’s not polite behavior.’ With that, the girl yelled even louder, ‘No, thank you! No, thank you!

On the way back from a Cub Scout meeting, my grandson asked my son the question. ‘Dad, I know that babies come from mommies’ tummies, but how do they get there in the first place?’ he asked innocently. After my son hemmed and hawed awhile, my grandson finally spoke up in disgust. ‘You don’t have to make something up, Dad.  It’s OK if you don’t know the answer.’

Just before I was deployed to Iraq , I sat my eight-year-old son down and broke the news to him. ‘I’m going to be away for a long time,’ I told him.  ‘I’m going to Iraq .’ ‘Why?’ he asked.  ‘Don’t you know there’s a war going on over there?’

Paul Newman founded the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for children stricken with cancer, AIDS and blood diseases.  One afternoon he and his wife, Joanne Woodward, stopped by to have lunch with the kids. A counselor at a nearby table, suspecting the young patients wouldn’t know that Newman was a famous movie star, explained, ‘That’s the man who made this camp possible.  Maybe you’ve seen his picture on his salad dressing bottle?’ Blank stares. ‘Well, you’ve probably seen his face on his lemonade carton.’ An eight-year-old girl perked up.  ‘How long was he missing?’

His wife’s grave side service was just barely finished, when there was a massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more thunder rumbling in the distance. The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, ‘Well, she’s there.

May happiness smile on your world and in your heart..
